I quit!
I quit the gym.
I wasn't going. There was always this excuse or that one. Two kids on different schedules...Need to get caught up with work...Need to go home and clean house...Blah blah blah. I paid for 4 months and didn't go one single time in those 4 months. I think I did really good for the first year of my membership, but once we put the house on the market, it all fell apart!
So...I quit.
Since moving to the new neighborhood, it's been hard not to notice all the people trying to get and stay fit. People are out walking, running, riding bikes, etc ALL THE TIME! It's tough being a couch potato when you look out the window and see people staying active.
I downloaded the Runkeeper app to my phone and started RUNNING. What?! Yes, I said running. I can't run too terribly far before I need to stop and walk to catch my breath, but I'm getting better.
Luckily, I have a few neighbors/friends who keep me motivated and hold me accountable. For that, I am so thankful! I can't say it's been easy getting up at 5:45/6am to RUN, but it's feels great once I'm out there and once I'm back home by 7 and can say my workout has been DONE! The plan is to keep running...get better...and I think I may even register for my very first 5K event.
I'm not sure what I'll do when school starts up again. I'll probably have to start running in the evening. I also plan to get an elliptical soon (since there's room for that in the new house). Then, I will have NO EXCUSES for skipping the exercise.
I need to be healthy not only for myself but for my kids. They're getting MORE and MORE active the older they get. It'll be hard to keep up if I don't get off my butt!

Playdate Fun
It's summer!
Every school year when May comes around, I look forward to summer. I have a countdown on the board in my classroom, and I make sure that number goes down daily! I just know that summer is going to be full of exciting adventures with the kids and me.
Then summer hits, and I have no idea what to do.
Having two small kids to entertain is a job all by itself. It's quite the challenge finding something to do that would be appropriate for an almost 5 year old girl and an almost 2 year old boy. Hmmm...(thoughts???)
That's why I look forward to these days...the days when we have our baby playdates. It's fun to watch the same group of kids grow and play together, and as an added benefit us moms get to have some adult conversation. :)
Here are a couple pictures to show you how they've grown. I don't know about you, girls, but if you have anymore babies, we're going to have to get a bigger couch. :)

Friends

We celebrated our hew home this past Saturday with lots of friends and family. Don counted it up...We had 24 people in the house. He asked me what would have happened if we had that many people at the old house. My response? "We probably would have broken it." Ha!
Unfortunately, I didn't get my camera out once. :( What was I thinking?! Obviously, I wasn't.
Luckily, though, Amy got a few good pictures. We're excited that they, too, just moved into their new home. However, we're sad that they'll be so far away. Good luck in your new home, Amy, Matt, & Barrett! May you fill it with many wonderful new memories!
New House...Sneak Peak
The only thing I don't like so far is that there is much more floor that needs to be swept (daily, I might add). Dark wood floors show dirt too well. Any advice on how to keep those clean?
