First BIG girl haircut

We did it. We took Braelyn for her first BIG girl haircut this afternoon. Don was even able to take off work early because he didn't want to miss this 'first'. Here are a few pictures from our adventure.

We have discovered bubble bath. :)

I just had to post a few pictures of Braelyn. She thinks the bubbles are so cool, and she loves giving herself a beard. Enjoy!

What will I do?

We've known for several months that my mom would be relocated to Tennessee for work, but the actual date of her leaving has really snuck up on me. She's moving tomorrow morning! Luckily, my dad will still be here in town, but it will be SO DIFFERENT without seeing Mom at home when we go for family dinners every Sunday. Who will cook? LOL

I'm not sure of the exact amount of time Mom will be living in Tennessee, but from what I understand it will be a few years. :o(

I know that she doesn't really have a choice as to whether to go or stay -- as she has put in so many years with Ford Credit that she has to stick it out a few more to get her full retirement benefits. Plus, the economy sucks (excuse my language, but is there really a better word?).

The selfish part of me wishes she could/would stay. This relocation couldn't have come at a worse time! We're about to welcome a new baby into our family, and I have no idea how to be a mom of 2 kids. My mom won't be just 2 miles down the road anymore. :o( I know she's just going to be a phone call or e-mail away, but I need my mom here.

She has already made vacation arrangements so she can be here when we welcome the new baby into our world. She'll be here for the first two weeks of his PLANNED arrival. Let's hope he stays put until she can be here.

The things people say...

Over the last two days, I've heard some pretty interesting things about my belly. Some comments were from students, and others were from co-workers. See if you can guess who said what:

1. What happened to your belly? It's getting smaller!
2. You look so narrow today.
3. You're just a month away from your due date? You still look so small.
4. You're about to pop!
5. Are you just ready to have that baby, or what?!

Keep in mind, that the comments don't bother me a bit. I think it's funny how some people think I'm "small" and others think I'm going to lay down in the hall and deliver a baby right then and there.

Until next time...

32 Week Check-Up...Or is it???

Yesterday, I went for my 32 1/2 'ish' week check up. For the last few months I've been measuring a few weeks past where the doctors say I should be. I certainly don't FEEL that big, but when I look at pictures, I definitely LOOK that big. :) Yesterday I measured at 34/35 weeks. The doctor has requested that I get another sonogram (this will be my 3rd) at my next appointment on June 3rd. She wants to know just how big this baby really is and check the fluid levels. Of course, I'm paranoid, worried, and excited all at the same time. I can't wait to see how much he's grown.

Personally, I don't care how big the baby is because I already know I don't have to push him out! :)

I've also been having some blood pressure issues. It's been as high as 145/90 and as normal as 124/82 in the last few weeks. It's closer to normal when I'm not at the doctor and shoots up just in time for every appointment. I'm thinking I have some anxiety about doctor visits.

On another note, I'll be taking Braelyn for her first BIG GIRL haircut next Tuesday. I'm sad to see some of the hair go, but she really is starting to look a little scraggly -- especially since she refuses to let me put her hair up. Here are a couple before pictures. I'll be sure and post some after pictures after her appointment.

Until next time...

Let's try this again...

Since there are only 10 school days left until SUMMER, I thought I'd give this one more shot. I mean, I will have about 4 weeks of a summer break before being a mom to 2 kiddos. I need to have SOMETHING to do...ha ha. That's a joke! :)

Here's just a quick little update in pictures. I'll post more later -- after I take a nap! :)
