This was a fun thing to do with the kids today, too! I made homemade silly putty (1 c. glue, 1/2 c. liquid starch) Mix it together -- it will likely take some kneading/mixing with your hands to get it to all stick together. A spoon just won't cut it!
After I got it all made, I split it into equal sections for the kids to play with. They spent about 45 minutes playing with the stuff before they got hungry for lunch.
I hear you can also make it glow in the dark by adding some glow in the dark paint. I'm not sure I'm brave enough to try that, but maybe someday we'll get around to it. :)
